Vacaville High School Improvements

Project Summary

The first Measure A project kicked off in May 2016 with the start of the VHS Parking Lot and Tennis Court projects.

Vacaville High School was originally built to serve approximately 1,100 students. The school now serves close to 1,900 students. Parking for the school was a significant challenge.

The main lot was expanded and reconfigured to maximize the area, creating 50 new parking stalls. 14 additional parking spaces for visitor parking were also added in front of the Administration building.

On the far west end of the campus a new driveway that leads to the farm and baseball field was added. 24 additional parking spaces were added here as well. This project resulted in a total of 88 additional parking spaces on campus.

The tennis courts that used to split the student lot from the main lot were moved to the east end of the campus. VHS Bulldogs now enjoy 8 new tennis courts dedicated to Dr. Chris Camissa, a longtime supporter of VHS athletics, in October of 2016.

The projects were awarded with Board of Education approval to the lowest responsible bidder. The VHS Parking Lot and Tennis Court projects were awarded to Lister Construction of Vacaville.

Tennis Courts and Parking Lot projects budget: $5,493,000.
